Welcome to Dr. Guttenberg's Page!

Hi! I'm Dr. Guttenberg and I'm the Director of Curriculum, Assessment, and Placement. I have spent a lot of time in school. I earned a BS and MEd from UMASS Amherst. An MS from the Vrije Universiteit in the Netherlands and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from Boston College. I've been an educator since 1996. While I've been at Southie since 2007, this will be my first year at Excel High. My goal for students is always to provide the best support that I can to the teachers of the school. It is through their work that doors and opportunities open for our students.
