My name is Stephanie Sibley and I am honored to be the headmaster here of Excel High School. I earned my Bachelors of Science in Mathematics from the University of Tampa and then graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a Masters in Education. Prior to coming to Excel, I was a math teacher at Boston Latin School, an administrator at East Boston High School, and headmaster at Brook Farm Academy in West Roxbury. I was also the Chief Program Officer at the Boston Plan for Excellence, a local non-profit organization that works with teachers and principals to increase student learning and achievement.

This year Excel has combined with the former Monument High School which means we are larger and stronger. Our goals for the year are to increase literacy proficiency across the content areas, build a collaborative, cohesive, and unified community among students and staff, and demonstrate high expectations in all of our teaching and learning practices.

There are so many things I am excited about this school year! We have increased our Advanced Placement offerings with the additions of AP Economics and AP Government and Politics. We have established learning and student support centers for our students that need additional academic and/or social-emotional support. In October, we will launch our Health Resource Center which will provide additional health and wellness related services to small groups of students and individual students upon request.

I am pleased that we now have a Community Relations Manager to make sure students know about and have access to the many wonderful opportunities that our school and the outside community have to offer. We have significantly increased the number of school clubs. We will also add two additional physical education options: Zumba and Martial Arts!

I am fortunate to be working with a talented team of teachers and staff, creative and intelligent students, and dedicated parents and families. We are one and all are committed to the success of every Excel student. This will be a great school year!
