Welcome to Ms. Severson's Page!

I'm Anne Severson, an English teacher at Excel High School. I have a BA in English from Penn State University, an MAT in secondary English Education from Boston University and an MFA in creative writing from Emerson College. Although this is my first year at Excel, I've been teaching students from Boston for 22 years. Teaching is joyful and important -- what could be better in one's life work? As a teacher of upperclassmen, my goal is to help those juniors and seniors to become more independent learners.
