Welcome to Ms. Friedman's Page!
My name is Ms. Friedman. I teach the self-contained, Autism/Life Skills class at Excel High. This is my third year with Boston Public Schools. Prior to that I worked for two years at Somerville High, and four years in Baltimore County Public Schools. My students have autism as well as significant cognitive, developmental, and communication challenges.
We work on a functional academic curriculum, exposing the students to near grade-level information based on their individualized cognitive and functional abilities. We also prepare them for life after high school by teaching skills of daily living, pre/vocational activities, and other necessary skills.
I enjoy my work with this population, and am committed to their success. My goals for them are to be the best individual they can be.
I encourage all members of the Excel community to visit and get involved with these students!
